Yahoo ships the web’s largest play button (2)
Yahoo has relaunched their video product with a few changes. Aside from the mammoth-sized play button (one of my favorite parts), users can now upload video files that are up to 150MB. Take that YouTube! YouTube is at 100 MB which in my estimation is 8 minute abs versus Yahoo’s 7 minute abs - BOOYA! There’s also a healthy 16:9 viewer, embeddable playlists and a few enhancements to profiles. One slightly annoying thing is when you visit one of their ‘Networks’ (Yahoo News, Sports, Music, etc) a pre-roll ad auto plays and there’s no way to stop or pause. I understand they need to make some dough on these pages but locking people out of being able to stop video/audio is a bad move. High marks on the rest of the user experience and usability.
