Digitize me! — on BigStage (3)

I was lucky enough to attend a “Best of CES” showcase in Burbank hosted by a mouse-led company and I ran into a table with a huge sign that said “Big Stage.” I heard about this service before and the concept seemed cool so I thought this would be a great time to find out more about it. I had a brief conversation with one of their representatives:
JA: So what is Big Stage exactly?
BS: Basically, we help create instant avatars that look very similar to the person using digital images of the user.
JA: Interesting, so what can I use this for?
BS: Well you can use it in many places like any social network or where ever you want to represent yourself online.
JA: Any social network? What about something like Second Life?
BS: We’re not providing services for Second Life right now.
JA: So are you guys going to be mainly service providers or promoting yourselves as a platform for your own online network?
BS: Both, actually. Right now we’re just providing a service, but we have plans to develop ourselves as a platform as well.

Her answers were a bit brief, but from what I saw, it seems pretty promising. I only wish I could have seen a live demo of my own avatar being made. Anyway, I cant wait to digitize myself (and actually have an avatar that looks like me).

Looks like a private beta, any idea how to get an invite?
Yeah — let me do some research on that and I’ll get back to ya. =D
something else to checkout is gizmoz.com / they create lifelike avatars and then let you animate.
